China Construction Bank Student Visit CCB London
8 May 2019
Following the earlier tour of Bloomberg, our China Construction Bank Executive Students had the opportunity to visit the London Office on the afternoon of May 8. Upon arrival we were welcomed into the building and given a tour of the various departments. This was great to see as many of the students were able to see what CCB looks like in the UK and compare their experiences in China with their European colleagues. There were some wonderful moments where friends were reunited as some of our students met up with individuals they used to work with at the China offices and were able to catch up and compare notes!
After the tour, the students were given several short presentations from various CCB London employees which proved to be very informative and gave great insight into the similarities and differences to CBC locations as well as the most up-to-date market information.
Introductory Presentation – Adam Burden (Academy Training Manager)
Overview of CCB London – Murali Reddy (CFO)
Corporate Banking Overview – Giorgio Scatigna-Gianfagna (Senior Loan Syndication Manager)
Compliance at CCB London – Philip Bedos (Head of Compliance)
After the presentations, there was a wonderful opportunity for some networking between the CCB London staff members and our students, accompanied by some food and drink of course! Our CCB students were joined by many staff members from HR, Finance, Risk, Operations and the General Counsel as well as the CEO. Numerous questions were asked and answered, and I know many of our students felt it an extremely valuable experience given that some of them will soon be working in European offices themselves! The CCB London Chairman gave a wonderful message to our students, wishing them luck for their upcoming exam and thanking them for visiting. Adam Burden (CCB London) and Professor Guy Liu (PHBS UK) also gave their thanks to everyone involved and wished the students luck and good wishes going forwards.
