The cross-border study Programme requires students to study across two Campuses: one year at the Peking University HSBC Business School - UK Campus, and another year at Peking University HSBC Business School – Shenzhen, China Campus.
The Programme provides students with an opportunity to gain more international learning experiences during their two-year full-time study at Peking University (PKU) in study of management and finance at the postgraduate level.
The Master's in Finance programme is designed to equip students with a comprehensive understanding of financial theory and its practical applications. The programme aims to provide graduates with detailed knowledge of modern financial theories and methodologies and a comprehensive understanding of both financial and economic performances and management.
Students are prepared for various careers in investment, financial management, financial trading, financial product design, financial analysis, financial risk management, and related fields.

The Programme also prepares students for the examination toward becoming a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), thereby enhancing their competitiveness in the job market.
This is a two-year, cross-border study programme across UK and China campuses, offering immersive global perspectives and comprehensive insights into the Chinese market.
All courses are instructed exclusively in English, as is all academic support provided by faculty, TAs, and staff members.

The Master of Finance programme curriculum is quantitative-based, emphasizing the development of essential quantitative skills for a successful career in finance and the achievement of specific career goals. The School offers a diverse range of courses designed to sharpen students' quantitative abilities, ensuring they are well-prepared for the demands of the financial industry.
While we welcome applicants from various academic backgrounds, it is strongly recommended that students who apply for this program have a high level of mathematical skills or an undergraduate degree in a related or quantitative field such as economics, finance, mathematics, or engineering.
Does not count in the 54 credits for degree completion, but the credits and grade are included on the PKU transcript and calculated into GPA.

This is a required class for students of the quantitative finance program. The purpose of the class is twofold. On the one hand, we study macroeconomic concepts and theories. On the other hand, we will apply these theories to understand macroeconomic events happening in China as well as in the world.
Microeconomics is one of the most important subjects with strong relevance to managerial decision making and public policy designing. This course aims to equip students with a thorough understanding of the basic core materials of microeconomics. The lectures will cover consumer behavior, firm production and market.
By taking this course, students will be exposed to various topics related to household finance and financialmarkets, including using different methodologies and different applications in China and in the US.
This course combines theoretical modelling, institutional settings, andempirical analysis to understand how securities are traded. Ethical issues in business represent one part of the moral territory we must navigate in all of our daily activities. This course will focus not only on the particular demands of business but also analyze these in relation to how we weigh the competing interests and values confronting us in the larger world in which our work lives are embedded.
This course is designed to introduce you to academic writing in English. It is an initial engagement with the processes which you will require for your final year dissertation, as well as fulfilling other written assignments during your study at PHBS.
This condensed course covers basic mathematics concepts required for other advanced courses in Business School. The possible topics to be covered include calculus, optimization, linear and Matrix algebra, statistics, and probability theory. The course is intended to be a refresher of math knowledge that students have learned during undergraduate studies or elsewhere.
Tuition fees for the Cross-border Masters in Finance is £19,000 (first year in the U.K) and RMB 60,000 (second year in China, Shenzhen).
